u dont need to redo your ipod. drag your files (mp3s, word documents etc) from one computer to the next just by using an ethernet cable. it costs about $5-$10 at any computer store.

also set your ipod to "manually update" instead of automatic update, and enable your ipod to be used as a "disk". that can help you transfer all sorts of files.
