I have yellow jackets. Nesting. In. My. House!

This is So not something I wanted to deal with when I signed onto this whole home-ownership type thing. Luckily our South neighbor, he used to be in the anti-pest business. Put out a trap, FAST. If you're lucky you might nab the queen. No more nest.

Would Fred Meyer's have something like that? If not, where? And thanks for the advice!

Freddies, Home Despot, Lowe's.... any home store. It's not an ideal solution, and may not work. (I think I've seen lucky situations before.) It's a chemical trap. Usually an inverted jar with wasp/yellowjacket pheromones to attract them. The only way you'll wipe out the nest is if you catch the queen, and if the nest is established that's not terribly likely.

My only other non-chemical suggestion won't work. It's the wrong time of year. I had very little trouble with yellowjackets or wasps this year, because this year the swallows were THICK out here. They've moved on by this season tho.

I just got stung twice a couple weeks ago! It was the first time I had been stung in TWO DECADES! Woopsee! The sting on my thumb took at least three days to stop itching and I am not allergic! I am thinking bee-free thoughts for you guys!
