Comic book authors are not the fans' personal request boxes and I'm really starting to feel bad for Ms. Toboso as author. I can't imagine how vocal some of the batshit Japanese demonshota fangirls must be. Respecting authors= awesome.
I see things like this, resist the urge to barf, and then remember that the only canonical, concrete instances we've seen of sebastian fucking anything have all been women.
and then I feel slightly better.
I feel bad for Ms. Toboso, having her wonderful manga pulled down to a level like this by its fans; anytime she makes yaoi-esque innuendos (the corset scene for example), they always turn out to be humorously false, as if she's saying "is this what you want well my apologies but NO". can't we just all sit down and read an epic little story and be done, without all this shipping war nonsense? I'm much more partial to het in my ships, but I don't go around saying blab like this to yaoi nuts, I leave them in their corner and stay in mine, and if we cross every once in a while then that's just fine.
I like my ciel/lizzy, there's not enough love for it, and if you don't sail my ship, simply sail your own.
I am kind of a Sebastian/Ciel shipper, but the amount of fangirls that go apeshit obsessive over the pairing drive me insane. Dear God.
It makes me feel worse that most of these crazy Sebastian/Ciel shippers who continually bash Lizzie are female themselves. And here they are stomping on development of an awesome female character. It just... does not compute for me. The manga is set in Victorian England. People do not have to act like feminism is still stuck in that era.

As someone who's extremely new to this fandom, I applaud this post. I knew, I just knew that there had to be people out there with some sanity and respect for the story in itself. I admit, my tendency to lean towards Ciel/Lizzie does make me biased, but I get so irritated when (and I'm not saying it's always the case) yaoi fangirls (who are women, mind you) go batshit crazy and, consequently, bash women for having some backbone and personality because it'll ruin their precious pairing.

Sometimes I really hate this fandom.
