When Mom left for upstate she left clothes in the dryer, not a lot but they were there and they ended up on the table because I needed to do laundry. Eventually her things mingled with mine and when Dad needed the table to fold his clothes that he was washing I gathered all of the clothes up into my empty hamper and brought it up to my room. Meg, I'm sorry you're feeling stressed. I think you and Mom really need to sit down and figure out a living plan. I don't think there are clear cut expectations; thus, you can't do what Mom thinks you should, because there's nothing explicit to refer to. You need to know what chores she expects you to do and when, and in what other ways she wants you to contribute to the household exactly. The only way to have less stress is to create definite boundaries and expectations, and I've said this to both Mom and Dad over and over and over again. That's just plain common sense coming from someone who has lived with various people over the years; first in college, now with Alex. The number one thing to destress a living situation is clear cut expectations that both parties agree to, and follow thru on ( ... )
