Car trouble (like you had recently) can make you feel helpless and nervous in case it happens again. If you got the car fixed, probably the best thing is to try to force yourself to do it :)

I once had two tires blow out (at different times) within a week at high speed on the freeway and I didn't like driving for a while after that either, but I had to (to get to work) so I did. :)

Good luck! It'll be worth it :)

Yes. I love driving, but when I have to face the long trip down to Bakersfield.....ugh. Not fun driving in traffic. How about a couple of short trips to get you in the driving mood again?

You are probably right ang, I'm so afraid now the car will die somewhere and I'll have the kids and I don't want that. Beach is 15-20 minutes from the house by car there is no way I want to be stranded. But I think I'll venture out tomorrow it is story hour and the kids want to go. Few minutes by car but it's a start maybe after we'll head to the library afterall it's that direction. :)

Another way to get around the fear is to ask yourself what is the absolute worst thing that would happen on your trip if your car dies again.

Seeing as you will probably be driving in a populated place, most likely the worst thing would be that you would be inconvenienced and the repair might cost money :) Not a life-and-death situation, just an inconvenience. Fifteen or twenty minutes away is pretty close :))

Folks are pretty good at stopping to help as Tim and I found out last year when we were stranded in the mountains. So pack an extra drink or two and some extra snacks for the kids and use it as a learning experience for your kids if it happens. ;-)

I am sure all will be fine!

there is a long stretch of nothingness and depending who actually goes to the beach that might not be a good thing haha. But today is story hour and I'm headed for the beach anyways so we shall see how it goes. Woo hoo! wish me luck ladies. :)
