Seanan McGuire (Mira Grant) podcast interview = awesome

This interview with Seanan McGuire (aka Mira Grant) is awesome. Topics include being a female author in a male-dominated genre, being devalued due to gender, male vs female book covers, and the current controversy about misogyny in the SFWA newsletter, along with lots of other really interesting discussions. By the last 20 minutes I was laughing out loud. I'm glad I'm home alone with the cats, as I couldn't really share my reason for laughing with the boys.

Rufinia, this is a really wonderful ep. I've enjoyed the others (I've listened to 6, 7, & 8 while I'm sewing this week), but I really loved your conversation with Seanan. I didn't know much about her other than her writing as Mira Grant, and now I'm going to read her other stuff because it sounds good and I really like her as a person.

But not Parasite. I was offered it to review and I passed because I suspect it could make me queasy. I'll take her advice and wait until someone who knows my reading taste reads it first [*cough*DSR*cough*].

And then you got my editing mistake where I hit the wrong "bye!" as the ending of the episode, so there's a bonus 90 seconds on cat food.

:D

Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I don't usually have much patience for podcasts, so give them a miss; I enjoyed this and found it edifying and appalling (I didn't know I still had room to be yet more radicalized).
