I feel like being helpful!

AKA, a big worry I just had re: grad school has resolved itself, so I'm sharing my research across assorted platforms.

A List of Well-Funded Creative Writing MFA Programs in the United States That Do Not Require the GRE and Do Not Immediately Strike Me As Soul-Crushing (Subject To Revision)

  1. University of California at Irvine.
  2. University of Michigan
  3. Cornell University
  4. University of Alabama
  5. University of Minnesota
  6. Syracuse University
  7. Arizona State University
  8. Brown University
  9. McNeese State University
  10. University of Iowa
  11. Southern Illinois University
  12. Georgia College
  13. Wichita State University
  14. University of Idaho
  15. University of Montana
  16. Minnesota State University
  17. Colorado State University
  18. University of Massachusetts at Amherst
  19. University of North Carolina-Wilmington
  20. University of New Mexico

I'm trying to narrow down my options, and my handbook says 'first priority: don't go to places you won't like to live.' So, let's be real. I don't want to live in Idaho. I don't want to live in Alabama. I am almost certain I can't get into Cornell, but I'm going to apply anyway, because the program looks awesome. I don't want to live in Arizona. I don't want to live in Louisiana. I don't want to live in Georgia. Probably don't want to live in Montana. Not sure about NC. Best case scenario, I'd prefer to stay on my coast (<3 West Coast), but my home state doesn't have many options, my current state has only a couple, and California seems to think that if you aren't prepared to send PIs to track down their funding packages, you aren't motivated enough. Argh.
