This evening I took my violin over to sit with Great-Aunt Mary and Grammy. We were gathered around Great-Aunt Marian's bed, talking quietly and singing to her. She has hospice, and they said she won't eat anymore. Extended family is coming, and we will try to keep people visiting as much as possible so she is not alone much. I'm so sorry. It's a difficult thing to go through.

I think, to be honest, that a lot of the time people come to visit someone because it's something they need, rather than the other way around. One part love, one part need of closure.

I hope she can find comfort in your music. I think it's really great that you played for her.

Thank you. I'm going again today. Her roommate at least turns the tv down while I'm playing violin, so that makes the atmosphere better just for a little bit. It seems like she should get her own room. Hopefully we can get them to move her tonight.
