This is the bodice I'm lacking the stomacher/sleeves for. I could deal w/o the sleeves if I can come up with a stomacher, but I can't grommet to that extent, nor do I have any boning laying around.

If you can figure out a way to grommet, I have boning laying around, if you want a couple. My sides are also medium, I think, and are brown besides. My Pendragon peasant bodice is a Medium too, and those fit smaller than the celtic.

I have a Juliet too, but the stomacher is brown w/ acorns on it. Want me to dig around for it, or would it just WAY not match your Juliet?

It's black, but I have a black silk chemise and skirt too, so I think I could make that work.

Do you want to bring it up tomorrow and we can fiddle with it tomorrow at lunch and see if it will fit? I never get to see you anyway. :) I've never tried a stomacher with the large or medium Juliet, so I have no idea if it will fit.

<3 you, starr! /hugs

psst....

I have a Juliet. It would take some digging to get to it, but the stomacher is burgundy. Black sleeves with burgundy material.

Call it plan C.

What about throwing another Irish dress together real quick? I can come over and help if you decide to go that route...

I'm soooo out of practice for sewing. You've seen my burgundy silk chemise. I was thinking of possibly doing a black velvet (at least I believe I still have some) "gates of hell" overdress. A little more medieval.

However, I will gladly accept all help! How's that for a bind... her friend that has been doing/going to renaissance faires for 27 years has... nothing to wear. Oops!

I can bring my sewing machine, if we're going this route, or I can do hand sewn stuff like the hem, etc. Want to get together tonight?

Sure! With the damp/cold, we shouldn't be out overly late... I want to swing by the Kid's Kastle festival over in Highland Village, let them trick or treat a few houses, and call it a night.

I'm off work at 5pm. :)

I wear a small bodice, so I'm useless in the loaning-of-garb department. But I did want to express my sympathies on the situation, and I hope you can get stuff together in time that works.

Nothing like ~thinking~ you are all set and finding out you aren't. :-p

That's totally it. *L* I figured even if the mediums were too snug (and I won't have experienced bodice-tiers with me, so backlace would be a challenge anyway... that my other black and burgundy trimmed bodice would still work.

Thanks for the sympathies! One way or another we'll make this work. :) I think that's one of the best things about having resourceful girlfriends!

So did you get something settled last night?

I did...

Dilemma solved... I got a hold of Mary Dane yesterday on my way home to inquire about my errant hat (I left it in the back room in Pendragon the last time i went to faire... 2.5 years ago). She has 2 Juliets, one large, one XL, and 2 stomachers. She's loaning me the royal blue with black lace one. I'm set.

/whew.
