Woah LJ must be really excited about amy_vic's birthday since I just got a reminder about it 11 times! Speaking of LJ they made another update saying they were going to fix some stuff but could not comment when it was fixed, and in further comments they've gone on to insist that it's not that they "won't comment" it's that they really "can't comment."

The book is *always* better, no matter how great the movie is ... except on rare occasions when the movie came first, and the book is an adaptation.

I think that in really rare exceptions the movie can be better, then again those really are opinions of taste. I love the movie Lost and Delirious I read the book it was based on The Wives of Bath and really did not love that. But I think that's one of the few exceptions that I've personally found to that rule.

I suspect one of the problems is that Hollywood suits don't read anything but contracts.
