The first part of the movie I sat there thinking "nobody likes me" in that Droopy Dog voice every time the main character opened his disembodied narrative voice. Also trying to figure out how they go from noticing a few inperfections in a cloth and go.., "Hey, if I look close and assign letters to these it makes a name... well, its pretty clear I'd better go kill them." Isn't that sort of a variation of the dog telling you to kill the unbelievers?
Also, isn't it amazing how much a good wax bath can heal?

I just watched this movie over Christmas at my brother's place, and I agree. The comic book was way better, since it at least justified the assassin's crazy abilities. They were all supervillians with superpowers. Enough said.
