9 months is a long time, but so far it's been okay when Homes and I have been apart for several months. You just have to keep communicating and get adjusted to living alone (or alone-ish, in your case). Mostly it sucks in the morning, not at night, when you wake up and see the person is not there. But I get a shitload of writing done whenever he's gone. Perhaps you can finish/start a book.

you'll also have lots of new excuses for friend time and weird craft projects and spring cooking and summer swimming. because there'll suddenly be all this time all over the place.
it'll be fun and you kids have been through much tougher together.

I hope I'm not serving as a worst-case scenario here. Or rather, maybe I hope I am, because you and that fella have a much stronger, healthier, all-around good-housekeeping-approved bond than I had with my little goldbricker. So the "fucking you up as a couple right nicely" option isn't really a viable option.

Will you kill time by teaching me how to do all the cool things you do? Like gardening and sewing and ... ermm ... bartending?
