I created a new journal.

If I have to pin one reason as to why, I'd say that I just wanted a fresh start. And if I can pin two, I also just no longer identified with my username. This one, elkdawn, is more fitting.

I plan to bring over some of my friends from my previous journal, and hopefully, create new ones. This journal will be mostly public, with a

Thanks for letting me know. I've added you. I'll probably delete your old one later when I go through and delete inactive users. I prune my list every few months. I noticed your default icon being the elk so this makes sense. As you know from my experience you can change your name but it costs money. If not losing your joining date bothers you that's the way to go. I'm glad this one will have more posts.

EDIT: Forgot to say that I love German. Took one year in high school and two in college. Was very good at it but with no one to practice with have forgotten just about everything. It would be nice to be trilingual.

Thanks Des. I probably should have gone with cervidaedawn because I won't be surprised if someone comes along to inform me that my icon is not an elk, but a reindeer, or moose, and so forth. I like them all, but especially the elk.

What other language do you speak? I loved German, too. I'm not one for regrets, but not continuing with German in college after four years of high school and seven months living in Germany, is one regret I do have. This summer I went to the Czech Republic, and flew Lufthansa. It was awesome to speak German with the flight attendants, and then switch to Czech. It wasn't fluent by any means, but people responded well to me. So I agree that trilingual would be nice. hehe

Well I can tell your default icon is not a moose because the antlers are too thin. I'm a naturalist but mammals aren't my strong suit. They are neat though. My favorite mammals are probably the pinnipeds, (seals, sea lions walrus

Speaking of seals, last week when I was at Home Depot in the Christmas decoration area, I saw a blow-up of seals with Christmas hats. It reminded me of you. I think you did a drawing last year of a seal on a beach. You beat them to it.

I've always wanted to learn Spanish. In high school I wanted to take it in addition to German, but some advisor said it would be too difficult to learn two languages at once. Ugh. Reading those Eyewitness books will be great for you since you'll gain even more technical vocabulary.
