I've mentioned to a few of you that Jim Henson's pitch to CBS for The Muppet Show was hilarious. Thanks to a widget we put together here at work, I can now share it (and a few other Muppet highlights):

Is that the pitch for the original show, or a more recent revival? (I'd guess the original show, but the references to Kermit as a known commodity are throwing me.)

The original. Kermit was known from previous appearances on Sesame Street. (Surprisingly, Rowlf had appeared even earlier on The Jimmy Dean Show.)

Huh. The "Danny Boy" skit seems like it may have influenced a later SNL gag.
