from Chapter 10: Final Thoughts and Conclusions

"There was an incident that happened just months after the stalking began that I will mention at this time. It was so bizarre and yet so personal that I was going to omit it, but I think it adds to all the anecdotal evidence presented. In 1994, I went to the gynecologist for a Pap test and exam. I had gone to this doctor for a few years. His female assistant was in the exam room also. Before he started the exam, he said to his assistant, in a rather low voice, that he would need two samples -one to send to the lab, and one for “him,” referring to someone else. He then rolled his eyes. I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about, or even if he was actually talking about me. However, he did take two swabs at that time, and I had never had that happen before. Again, I don’t know why I didn’t speak up at the time, but later that day, I thought of a few questions I should have asked! The bigger question is to whom was he referring? Who needed his own sample of my cells? It had to have been a very convincing individual to persuade a doctor to do that. It seems like it would have to have been someone else in the medical field, but even then, what kind of reason could he or she give? I have gone back after the fact to follow up on strange incidents or comments, and it has never done any good. I have usually been answered with double talk. The time for me to ask would have been at the moment he said it in front of his assistant. Even then, he could have told me that he was talking about someone else, or any number of other replies. The point is that I know he took two samples from me that day, and someone had requested that second slide. How odd!"
