Fuck Torchwood... again.

"She’s all business, as opposed to Jack and Ianto, who are sort of the comic relief." Eve Myles, talking about Gwen.

WHAT THE FUCK?

The comic relief???

Pardon me if I missed the laugh.

And seriously, the fucking comic relief? Wasn't Jack the fucking main character in Torchwood?

I never realised he was just the fucking "comic ( Read more... )

I love Eve, but she really needs to stop talking or at least think about what she's saying.

I really hope is just a case of being misquoted.

Else I'm really starting to be disgusted by the whole Torchwood thing beyond measure.

Did you notice that all the negative comments she was getting on that other interview on Wales Online have suddenly magically disappeared?

No, I hadn't read them

Thing is, I think Eve is really nice person. I met her at Hub 2 and she was fantastic. But....I think this is a case of she's buying into the supposed company line that Gwen was the most important character on the show, and thinks the fans believe that too.

And here I was wondering why they always put John Barrowman's name first in the credits!

Seriously, there were many really nasty comments to the interview on here

so nasty that they were removed.

I'll tell you, people is really annoyed. And they still don't get it!

Well, seeing it from her POV...she does kind of have a point. She's hardly going to say 'Oh well Jack's an emo bastard because Ianto died then he watches his own grandson die in the climax to episode five' is she? And they do have a fair amount of the comic scenes...as well as some of the most heartbreaking scenes in the episode. I'm just trying to be a voice of reason here.

I can't believe people are making horrible comments on her interviews. Taking it too far, imo.

The fact is, you see, fans are already seriously pissed at the moment and as I said above, I hope Eve is being misquoted since I like her too much to think she's so insensitive.

Only this is the second interview in which she pretty much states the same things and it really makes her seem dismissive of the fans and above all of her colleagues so it's understandable if fans are reacting badly to what she supposedly says to the press.

Well, I say that everyone needs to take a step back...as well as a chill pill. This is the media we're talking about here. They can hardly be trusted.

I loved Ianto and I certainly don't feel dismissed by Eve. IMO Eve bashing is not okay, just as John and Gareth bashing is not okay.

I would like to give Eve the benefit of the doubt since it is common for words to be twisted by journalists. But this is the second interview where she has made unfortunate remarks that show that she simply does not seem to understand her character and its relation with the other characters. She really is coming across as being incredibly thick.

Why is it not okay to 'bash' Eve, or John or Gareth? They are not gods who are above any type of ridicule. I think Gareth's behaviour was very vulgar and offensive at some cons, I think John's concerts are rather tacky (if I want to see a forty-year old man singing 'livin' la vida loca', I'll just go to Ricky Martin's concert) and I think Eve is a mediocre and dim-witted actress.

I certainly appreciate all three for their talents and for being in Torchwood and making it enjoyable for me, but that doesn't mean we should never say anything critical of them.
