Dear Mum and Dad,
While I'd love to spend the Christmas break with you, I will yet again be spending it with Ron, Harry and Ron's family. You'll understand I'm sure. I'll try and stop in to say Merry Christmas, but we may be busy.
Given these uncertain times, I'm also electing to remain with the Weasleys over summer too. I do just feel like I'm needed here.
Thank you for the gift you sent with the owl. Just so I'm sure, was this my last birthday present or a present for my coming birthday?

"I'm giving up," Ron said, shutting the book with a sigh. "How are we supposed to find out anything about a half-blood prince? What kind of name is that anyway?"
"Who knows," Harry said, yawning as he turned the pages of the thick, dusty book.
"The half-blood prince?" Hermione asked, sitting down beside them. "That's what Godric Gryffindor was called after his feud with Slytherin over the whole issue of the importance of blood purity. Just a nickname obvously, referring to his staunch defence of non purebloods."
Harry and Ron blinked.
Hermione rolled her eyes. "It's in Hogwarts: A History."

In his first year at Hogwarts, he'd seen a troll and found a friend.
In his second, it was a deathday party and the release of a monster.
In his third, the break-in of a supposed fugitive.
In his fourth, a cup that had changed everything.
His fifth had been uneventful, but the rest of the year had more than made up for it.
But Halloween in Harry’s sixth year brought the biggest surprise yet. Harry could only watch in stunned silence as the veil was drawn aside and the pale figure of his godfather stepped out to meet him.
