I definitely know what you mean about the privacy, the staying awake, and especially the losing touch with anything that isn't right here, right now. Which is why I suck so bad at keeping in touch with people I love (like you). Things just sort of have to be shoved in my face to remind me that I care. All of this is to say, "Ditto" "Here, here" "Right on" and other words of affirmation.

i feel sort of the same way about being awake when no one else is. It feels weird for me to go to bed at a normal time, and the middle of the night has kind of a cozy feel that I've grown to love. Unless I don't have anything to do. Being awake and bored when the world is asleep can generate scary levels of alienation. at least for me.
