Well, France mostly got started with this because he wanted to prove to America that he wasn't abusing England, and sex whose primary goal is to prove anything is often very draining. Besides, being the active partner is tiring enough, when you're not trying to shepherd America and England through the process.

Re:Canada-- I'm a little unsure about his characterization still, because nothing from these first three parts was from his point of view. It was part of the meme prompt that he be more comfortable with the kink than America, and while I think it works, I'm honestly not sure yet. So I'm glad it made sense to you!

France and strength: You're right, I imagine he is jealous. And also, if we say that physical strength is tied to economic/military power, also probably nostalgic/bitter.
