My thought is that Oliver is gone but he's not. He's now her angel. Kind of like Meg and Nicholas in City of Angels. Oliver knows and feels her pain, he wants to let her know he's with her. It's beautiful and sad at the same time. Wonderful job on the manip. Except that he casts a shadow. :) Maybe he can let her see him if he wants to badly enough ;D

Oh that's really sad and also a really beautiful way to see it. I love the idea that he is her personal angel but sad that he is dead.

:) You're spot on, I think! It really does fit. Can't believe I forgot that scene. :( As for the ring, it could just be a throw in that he wears his father's ring when he's at home. He used to wear it around his neck all the time, but nearly lost it that one times so takes to only wearing it around the house now.

:D Here's to hoping this inspires Sly to finish that one.
