Like so many of you,  today my heart is broken. I'm shattered, just numb with disbelief and grief. This has been the hardest day in a long, long time. And what makes it harder too is that (like many of you) my RL people don't share my love for and interest in Heath, his life and his work. So at this time, it is to the online community that we turn

Thank you so much for sharing,
I feel like I'm in a support group sharing grief and help each other to heal.
Like Ennis and Jack.Heath and Jake will always be in our hearts. I'm sure Jake will be a loving godfather to Matilda and show her what a wonderful father and person Heath was.

No, this was in fact December a year ago, end of 2006, when Heath was in Australia for the AFI awards. It hardly seems possible that it was only a year ago though .... and yes, i will never ever forget him or his kindness in writing to me.

Elle, thank you for sharing that kind and thoughtful letter from Heath. It's warming to know that the thought of his fans gave him encouragement and amusement, that he could think of people like you running around and it would bring a smile come to his face, that he was generous with his fans. I can definitely see you had every reason to feel so honored!
