GODDAMMIT, I have missed Yuletide nominations and it looks like most of my front-runner favourites are either ineligible or haven't been nominated. Seriously, people, we have to talk. I applaud your good taste in nominating RocknRolla and what looks like Georgette Heyer's entire back catalogue, but where's The Dark Is Rising? Where's The Prisoner?

Oh wow, your office mate sounds like an absolute trial. I wouldn't worry about it too much though because a) sounds like it's unlikely she'll actually pull herself together enough to apply and b) she clearly isn't qualified for the job either. The downside of this is that if/when you get that job she might be an absolute horror to live with...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you regarding the job. Yay for research and teaching!

I know this sounds ridiculous, given the bitching I've done here, but she's generally been relatively pleasant up till now. I mean, she's careless with other people's things and even worse with their time, and she tramples all over other people's emotional boundaries (like when she cried for no apparent reason in the middle of a conference she wasn't even presenting at and I had to sit there next to her in the audience as slow, sad tears poured down her face and the presenters looked horrified as they presumed that their papers had reduced their listeners to anguish? OMG, so horrifically awkward.) But this has kind of put me over the edge to the point where I'm like, YOU AND ME ARE DONE PROFESSIONALLY. Fortunately, the post is at a different university so, if by some chance I did get it, I would be at least 100 miles away from her.
