I refuse to take medicine too. I've been having chronic migraines for 6 years now and none of the medicine that the doctors prescribed me ever worked so I refuse to take anything now. My theory is: if the drugs don't work then why bother putting them into my body.

i just find it confusing. how is it supposed to help you? they were saying that it does something with the chemicals in your brain but the way she said it is made it sound like a mental problem that has to be treated. i don't think i get that down.. ^__^ or at least i hope i don't!!

Yes your right it is a chemical thing that the medication helps with you see some peoples brains have this chemical called ceritonin, ceritonin is one of many chemicals in your brain that affects our moods when it becomes un balanced we may experience many forms and degrees of depression or mood swings. The doctor is suggesting the medication because most likely like most anti depresents it slows the breakdown of ceritonin in your brain so that your emotional level can stay higher. It is obviously much more complicated then this simple description based on dose size to the individual ect ect so they may only want to put you on a small dose just to balance you a bit more that way if your in therapy or councelling which is where the real healing occures you can focus more on the healing and not get overwhelmed with memories ect ect.
