That reminded me of Bill Pullman's speech from Lost Highway which I was horrified at until I realize how much it makes sense everyday. The wanting to remember things as you remember them not remember them by some representation thing. Even for me, I feel like reading about it makes it sem so fantastical where as if you'd just shown me a picture I'd be like oh that's cool. Mmm.

yeah, i guess it always depends, sometimes writing will do what a picture can't or vice versa. and i've been meaning to see that movie for a while, thanks for reminding me.

marshmallows were originally made from gum arabic and marsh mallow flowers. gelatin + sugar/starch is an imitation; an exact and regulated copy of sterile appearance. i think that feeling vis-a-vis th wedding dress is why i talked about the mud .. thing. ? i'll send you the story
