I'm sure that this has been ranted about before, but it's worth repeating. Naiveté is not synonymous with stupidity. There are things that even people without who've led sheltered lives can be expected to understand.

My mom got really sick and needed surgery twice. She was near death in one of those occasions. I had a bad Spring semester. So, sometimes I love being in a huge university. I get to meet people from all over the world. I've had classmates from Nigeria, India, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, China, Colombia, Guatemala, Chile, etc. One of the best friends I've ever made here is from Cambodia. I get to visit forests and shit for my ecology class this semester. I'm so excited.

They're closing schools in my hometown because of swine flu. One baby died already.

SEMESTER OVER AND I PASSED CHEMISTRY IT"S OVER.

You know what pisses me off? When I read a perfectly decent summary and then the author tacks a "Sorry the summary sucks at the end." It's annoying. Even if everything else in your summary is good (great even) that line is going to turn me away. If you think your summary sucks, by God, don't say so!
