"The Greatest Generation"

I just recently finished reading "D-Day:  June 6, 1944" by Stephen Ambrose, who is rapidly becoming one of my favorite authors.  (He wrote "Undaunted Courage" which is AMAZING and also "Band of Brothers" but I haven't read that yet.)  Anyhoo, upon finishing the book, I felt  1. extremely patriotic and 2. exceptionally happy that I got to know my ( Read more... )

Interestingly enough, the Lenny-Ellen dialogue sounds to me like just the sort of chat that would be perfect for an educational skit to a certain age group. Which sounds to me like someone has been completely indoctrinated by his or her workplace. Which may not be a bad thing, since things I've heard sound to me like the person in question may have a history of willfully and gleefully submitting his or herself to multiple forms of brainwashing/indoctrination.

Just so you know, there are no typos in that quote. Lebeau is sweet enough to pull off all kinds of grammar mistakes.

I'd never picture Lenny talking like that and reminiscing about the old days. I always thought Lenny was kind of a young, hip rebel. Maybe I just don't know Lenny very well, or maybe since she's turning older, that's why Ellen's turning older too and going to bed earlier. ;)
