I've been expecting it for the past couple years, really, but it was still difficult to make the decision to let her go. In my whole life, there hasn't been a day when there wasn't at least one pet around, so it's very weird. But I plan to get a new baby once I settle into the house. Hope your kitties are doing well. <333
I congratulate you on taking the leap to home-ownership. There are many advantages to it I know, but I have always resisted. Over the years I have expressed many reasons for not wanting to own, but ultimately I think it comes down to laziness -- I really like turning to my property mgmt company whenever anything goes wrong with my place!
I know it is hard to keep up with LJ (I've been mostly absent myself these last few months), but I hope you will post pictures when you do start decorating.
Congrats on the new house!! Condolences on your furbaby. I've been in the same position and it sucks. You know it's their time because they are suffering, but you don't want them to leave you. I used the service my vet offers that they have your pet cremated and I got the remains back in a marble box. But after a month or 2, you will feel the pull for another pet. Adopt 1 or 2 new cats, I did and it was the best move ever. I will continue to hold hope that one day you will write more of your wonderful J2 stories. ;p

Yep, that laziness is why I've stayed in my apartment for 9 years. It took me a loooooong time to get to the point where I was ready.
