Asylum Europe 2 Report - Part 1
So, here's the first part of my - I dunno how long it's going to be - report about my third convention!
The ASYLUM EUROPE 2
So, now I’ll try to put in words what happened on the best damn weekend I had in my life so far! And I don’t think that anything will top this that fast.
My weekend at the Asylum Europe 2
So, after arriving in Mannheim on Friday and getting my ticket and photo ops, I wanted to buy a coffee lounge for Richard before I moved into my hotel room with wingfrog , kreespa , katwoman76 and Audrey. The registration started between 12 and 1 pm, I was down at 1:30 pm latest and guess what? The CL was already sold out! Okay ... I was disappointed, but well, those things do happen.
BUT! A while later, a friend of mine walked passed me and asked when we would meet for the Richard CL on Saturday. When I told her that I didn't get a ticket, she looked confused. She had queued up behind me and gotten two tickets for the CL! Number 14 and 15 of 21! And they told me, that they'd been sold out???
Well, I was pissed off, as you can imagine!
Luckily, seriesjunkie23 was nice enough to give me her ticket (and seemed like she got another one from somewhere, cause she was still able to attend). Thanks again, sweetie!
Anyway, after this first shock, everything went pretty smooth, so now, lets continue.
I walked over to the merchandise stands, especially those selling the pictures of our guys for the autographs. I had something to sign for everyone, but I'm always looking for pictures of Richard, as you might guess ;-)
And they really had quite a few, so I decided to buy one of each. When I said so, the girl working there tilted her head and looked at me: "You don't happen to be Becky, don't you?" You can imagine my perplexed face! She told me that she was Richard's PA for this and the last weekend at Asylum 6 and that someone had mentioned my name during the autograph sessions, so he had started talking about me!
Hell, imagine that: Richard Speight Jr told random people about me!!! I think, I dropped my jaw at that moment!
Saturday:
So, for not being in the position to almost miss another Coffee Lounge of Richard, I got up at six in the morning, grabbed some clothes and went down to the second floor to wait for Brian selling the tickets and OPs.
I should add: the only time I ever talked to Brian before was at Asylum 5 when I received my ticket from him. That's it!
So when he arrived, unpacking the tickets he looked at me. I was still standing a bit away, waiting for him to finish, for I thought it would be unpolite to interrupt him or talk to him before he was done unpacking.
He simply asked: "You're here for Richard, right?" My face went blank! I mean ... hello? Again?? Someone recognized me??? I simply nodded and bought my ticket for the Richard CL (got #1! Yay!) and for the Meet and Greet with the stars in the evening (Also #1! Cheer!) and my Jason Manns ticket.
Then I rushed back to the room, telling the others what just happened and to arrange myself into a more human state, so that the real fun could begin.
As always, the Opening ceremony was running late and short.
After a short announcement of each guest, Jensen stayed on stage to give his panel.
Me, only attending this convention because of one simple reason, was the only one who actually dared to get up from her seat and not move over to one of the microphones to ask a question, but walk over to the doors and leave the room to get my first autographs.
After waiting for like 5 minutes, the autograph room was opened and me and maybe five other girls went to get our pictures signed.
I first joined Mark Sheppard on his table and he even started talking to me, what - I have to be honest there - confused me completely for a second!
He asked if I had a good time and when I nodded and asked how he was, he said "not too good", what made me reply with a "That's not too good either"; what made him laugh and say that it was early after all.
Then I finally got to the table for which I had left Jensens panel: Richard!
He already knew me from the first Jus in Bello, where he had signed my magazine with the words "My #1 fan" because of my shirt and my cosplay and in general because I had attended this event only for him.
And after everything he had done for me (as written in my livejournal earlier, he mentioned me by my name at other conventions, in his facebook posts, he called me, took pictures for me and even wrote me a small note!), I just had to see him again! And how happy was I when I saw his face!
And the moment he spotted me, he jumped up, screamed "BECKY! I'm so happy to finally see you again!" and gave me a huuuuge hug! I was barely able to breath, so surprised was I!
He grinned when I told him how nervous I was and with shaking hands, I got the Cosplay picture i wanted him to sign out of my folder.
by then he spotted the writing on my shirt ("Come to the RICH side") and already clapped his hands until I turned around to show him the back.
He totally loved the shirt!
When I finally had the picture I wanted him to sign, he laughed at it and he really really liked it! i told him that we were planning to do another Cosplay this evening and he told me, he was looking forward to it. When I said that we even had a Lucifer and that I hoped he wouldn't stab me, he joked "Yeah, that would ruin your evening!"
I got another autograph for a colleague of mine (and he pouted a bit playfully as I told him that she hasn't actually seen anything of him but a few pictures that I showed her and asked how she dared! XD)
Then I got out my Open Water 2 poster and Richard really started laughing out loud! He asked: "My God, where did you got that!?" When I told him that I even have a second one, Mark turned his head from his table and joked "They even printed two of these?"
I grinned and said: "Yeah, and I own both of them."
I was actually so nervous, that I completely forgot to give him my present: a bottle of wine (Casillero del Diablo, just for the name! ;-)) with a picture of him and a little Trickster-charm.
So I turned around, queued again and when I was back at the table, both Richard and his PA looked at me, completely confused: "You again?"
I handed him the bottle and he thought that was awesome! Mark asked if Richard was now getting his own wineyard, because of the label and called me his stalker! - Not nice, Mark, not nice! *g*
Richard smiled and said he liked everything with his face on it (aaah, good to know!) and said he would drink it in the evening with his pals!
He also noticed the little Trickster and started playing with it!
I was already on cloud 9 after this short encounter!<3
