I've been meaning to write about Jessica Jones for ages and somehow it is hard to start. I've binged on it the weekend came out and watched all the episodes in two days. So here are some random thoughts behind the cut.

I really liked Jessica Jones too, and I agree with how the show dealt with those serious topics.

I really want to rewatch the whole series because I LOVED it the first time around but all at once made it too easy for me to overlook some of the more subtle points. It was SUCH a strong series and was much more engaging for me than Daredevil was. Can't wait for season 2!

I totally agree. Most of my friends like Daredevil better and though I love that show, JJ is a lot better, just imo.

What an excellent show they've made with amazing and diverse characters.

Will Simpson is the worst. I hated him even more than Kilgrave. I never understood what Trish saw in him. Definitely no nice guy!

I like a lot of things about Jessica Jones - starting with the painted trailer, and the fact that there are so many women, and the grittiness with her being an alcoholic. I liked the invulnerable barkeeper a lot, too - I've already forgotten his name. Hmmm.

The only problem I had was that it was scary! Really, really scary, so I couldn't watch it on my own at all. Still waiting to meet up with neery again so we can watch the second half of the season, because I don't have the nerves to go near it on my own. /o\

Sorry, to butt in but I need to know what kind of scary. The dark, noises, suspenseful music scary? The everything is bloody murder scary? Bodies? Or the the I-know-something-bad-is-going-to-happen-and-noone-can-do-aynthing-about-it-scary?

Because I'm not keen on 1st and third kind of scary and won't watch it even if someones there with me because why should I voluntarily give myself nightmares?

Could you perhaps expand on that a little, please? I really don't know whether to watch yet or not. If it's not possible to explain without spoilers, I don't mind them but in regards to others I won't mind if you send me a private message.

Hello!

It's not really a spoiler, because the setup is explained in the very first episode, and I've only seen the first three : Jessica Jones was abducted by a mutant with mind control powers. She got away from him (a year ago or something?), but he is still around and wants to kill her.

So... it's pretty much the third kind of scary. It's all about mind control. He could be anywhere, and he's really powerful, like "omg he could be mind controlling everybody around her and make them kill her and her friends". I couldn't keep watching after the first such attempt.

Also, he is shown mind controlling people and how they suffer.

I know nothing about the canon, so I don't know how it ends. I suspect that Jessica will win at the end of the season, but until then... scary.
