So a lot people have been posting Christmas wish lists to their journals and thought I would get on board... Really makes me realize how lucky I am. (I nipped this part as well 'cause I agree with it whole-heartedly...)
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Ellie's Christmas List:
1.) I'd absolutely LOVE for a list (or SEVERAL lists) of really excellent Draco/Hermione and Snape/Hermione fics... I get so sick of trying to filter through to the good stuff! lol
2.) I would absolutely LOVE to see more Labyrinth stuff from my favorite writers: YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! ;) *coughBaloocoughSLcoughWhitemunincough*
3.) Good book recommendations! I'm always DYING for them... I like everything from Horror to Fantasy (and even small portions of Scifi! lol) I love Laurell K. Hamilton, (well, her earlier stuff was AMAZING and I still like her *shrugs*) LJ Smith, Kelley Armstrong, Julie Garwood, Nora Roberts, Jane Evanovich, and pretty much ANYONE well written... (I could be listing for DAYS! lol)
4.) I'd love to hear more about all of you: Maybe you could drop me a line; tell me about yourself or your fanfics or whatever! Maybe even start up scintillating conversations on mutual beloved fandoms! ;)
5.) Icons. I LOVE icons, but sadly, have only a few... I'd ADORE some more Labyrinth icons, or Orlando Bloom, (as himself or Legolas, lol) or fairytale/fantasy type ones... (fairys, scenes from fairytales etc.)
6.) Here's the BIG one: Do you know of any really *excellent* fanfiction in ANY of these catagories? Because you could make my day with something as simple as a couple of well-founded recommendations! ;)
X-men: Marie/Logan
Gilmore Girls: Tristan/Rory
Labyrinth: Jareth/Sarah (the more recent the better; I've been perusing this fandom for quite some time... you might be hardpressed to find ones I haven't already read! lol)
LJ Smith:
Secret Circles; Nick/OC or Nick/Diana or all OC's as long as it's well written
Forbidden Games: Jenny/Julian
Night World: Whomever; OC's welcome!
Harry Potter: See #1, as well as ANYTHING well written that ISN'T slash. (Bonus points for those involving: The Malfoys: Draco, Narcissa, or Lucius (Lucius fics are fun!!) Any of the Hogwarts Ghosts/Paintings... Hermione as a strong character and MOST ESPECIALLY Time-turner stories!! I *LOVE* 'em and I'm having the hardest time finding good ones! lol
7.) If anyone knows whether author Crisssy101 Has any of her Laurell K Hamilton fanfiction posted somewhere (it was taken off of fanfiction.net) OR more than 4 chapters of MASQUERADE, for the love of GOD: TELL ME WHERE!!! ;)
8.) Last but certainly not least: If you'd *like* to, I never turn down reviews of my work: they help me grow as a writer, and the tend to brighten my otherwise dreary (or perfectly normal sometimes) days!
9.) Read any good fairytale rewrites? Be it internet or book, I'd love to hear about them!
10.) Take exactly ONE HOUR out of your day and do something solely for yourself; something you enjoy... and tell me about it, or consider you happiness one of my gifts! (Tee hee)
So Merry Christmas F-list!! Feel free to nab this from me!!
