p.s. The only secret to backing up files is... paranoia. Back them up left, right and centre. Harddrive, disk, and some sort of online storage facility that can be accessed from any remote computer. And let's not forget good old fashioned printing. It doesn't help now, but it's the way to go in the future. Especially when you're working on a novel, dude. I'll share with you the ultimate writer's nightmare later, and you will likely feel much better about your own situation.

Yeeeeah we tried that actually.... It's something PHYSICALLY wrong with the harddrive. My dad tells me it's just another one of the perils of owning a laptop. Thank you for the vibes though, and I'm so glad to hear from you! It's going to be tough for me to get back on the internet until my computer's been rigged up with anti-virus and stuff but I'll try and get on in the mornings and check up on all of you! *HUGS*
