Today marks a passage in time for me. Uh, quite literally. I don't have any real reason to be writing this, barring it being a prime example of my procrastination skills hard at work, yet again

I plead guilty to both one and two. I was desperately seeking a break from tedium, but your entry caught my eye and I did find it interesting. I enjoy fantasy, but I haven't read anything from the genre of Urban Fantasy. Frankly, I didn't realize there was enough of it to qualify as its own genre. I'll have to look into it.
I tend to agree with you about the Byronic hero, too. He can be fascinating to read about but would be too high-maintenance and a pain in the butt in real life. ;P Thanks for the nice break in the dullness of my day!
Hehe! :D So good to hear from you! And I'm so glad that it uh... broke the dullness. (why does that sound so incredibly odd? Lol)
Yeah, Urban fantasy is experiencing a real boom- I think that Anne Rice and Laurel K Hamilton helped usher it along (or at least those are two names I usually think of in association to Urban Fantasy) but it's still definitely a subset in fantasy and I may have erred in referring to it as a genre since it still definitely falls under Fantasy, or sometimes Paranormal Romance. (Hmmmmm. *thoughtful scratchings of the head*)
In any case, there are enough books that fall under "Urban Fantasy" to make me think of it as it's own little niche, lol.
*huggles* So nice to hear from you! I didn't realize how much I missed all of my LJ pals! :D
