I'm back from paradise! The conference was fantastic and the location of course was awesome. I'll post tons of photos tomorrow!

Now, unfortunately, I have to go back to studying for prelims. In 15 days!!!! YIKES!

Spent some time on the ranch today checking on my three GPS collared bobcats. All are happy and well. Lots of armadillos were out today enjoying the cooler weather and looking for grubs (yum yum). I finished the rodent survey today and checked the rest of the cameras (lots of ocelot photos!) so I don't have to get up at 5:30am tomorrow. WOOHOO!

I also just ordered pizza and I'm trying to decide on a movie to watch. It feels like Friday at my house right now. I can finally relax a bit.

Course, then it's more prelim reading for me later!

Caught 4 pages of rodents today. Considering how small the line spacing is, that is a lot! Almost 50% success. That is a LOT! I'm poooooooped!

Closed the bobcat traps yesterday. I will be spending the next month at a conference and then studying for prelims. So now you'll just get flyby posts about how horrible the studying is going.

Will start ocelot trapping in DECEMBER! WOO!

I finally received my last 3 GPS collars from New Zealand on Thursday. So Friday I crawled around in the brush and got all scratched the hell setting 16 traps. Saturday I was shocked not to have caught anything. Set 4 more Saturday then headed off to help photograph Navy Ball. It's overcast here, but not actually raining (of course), so it just makes me want to be not productive (okay, so that's not really anything new).

I need to be super productive and finish my two presentations and study for prelims! YIKES!

So I had a little retail therapy yesterday and now that I'm looking at flights to NY today, I'm regretting it! I live out of the way and the people I'm trying to visit live out of the way, so trying to get a flight between two small airports and near the holidays is just ridiculous ( Read more... )
