Notes: This was my last written piece, dedicated to everyone who supported my love for kyuhae all this time~

There's nothing left between them. Kyuhyun stares over at the other, they're both defeated.

The weeks of infidelity that led up to this day, this place, are marred with bitter and petty anger, a horrible romance. This is what happens with two people can't let go, can't say goodbye and, even worse, can't forgive.

Where does that leave them? At an angry kiss, an impassioned one that's as raw as their insecurities tucked away like a secret whispered only behind closed doors. Breaking apart is like coming up for air, tainted air that makes them both sick and nauseous. Their touches are also tainted, staining their lips that smush together almost too forcefully, almost like the first separation will reveal the cracks and jagged flaws marring their relationship.

Trembling, Donghae doesn't realize his fingers are shaking in place until it takes him a whole minute to undo a button on Kyuhyun’s shirt. He doesn't realize right away because his vision is blurred, his cheeks wet with salty liquid that he doesn't bother to wipe away. Instead, they leave a slippery trail across the other's naked chest as he presses little butterfly kisses along his travel downwards. His nose breathes in the wondrous familiarity, his forehead momentarily resting on the soft, flat plane of Kyuhyun’s stomach.

And Donghae closes his eyes, soaking in the torturous comfort of warm love and sterile betrayal. It's like thriving and choking at the same time, like this moment could stretch out far enough to wrap around them until the empty coldness disappears if only it didn't end up suffocating them first.

Kyuhyun can't move, can't bear not to stay utterly stationary like his limbs are fallen branches floating along the waves of the sea. He's being cradled by the other's touch, lured into a false lullaby and perfect slumber. It’s horrible, he’s drifting away. His tears are hot, falling out the corners of his eyes and onto the pillow below.

The bed, their bed, is the only thing left not dissembled and packed in brown moving boxes stacked all around the apartment. Once the sheets and blankets and pillows are gone, there'll be nothing left of them. Everything is soaked, is flooded and Kyuhyun feels the wetness on his knuckles as his arm hangs over the edge of the mattress. Water is going to carry him away, he doesn’t bother swiping the back of his hand against his face anymore.

Will they ever be able to look back at them and this and be okay? Donghae doesn't think so, fingers becoming tender as he pretends this is the first time they feel the whole expanse of Kyuhyun's body.

The way they stare at each other, like history and mistakes are erasable, is the best feeling in the world. Is the most fleeting feeling, is the very last.

like water, kyuhae, something like heartbreak, donghae/kyuhyun
