For freakin' serious, if what's rumoured to happen is trufax, I will be very....upset.
With certain corners of fandom exploding over rumors of Ianto possibly leaving Torchwood sometime during series three, all I can think of is the horrible possibility of being stuck watching the Gwen and Jack show. Could there be worse television than watching Gwen flirt with Jack and angst over Rhys while Jack makes scmoopy eyes and fantasizes about a threesome? I don't think i could watch that.
I am a Ianto-girl, yes; but it's not just because he's easy on the eyes and has nice taste in suits. I am a Ianto-girl because he provides such an essential element to the show. He keeps Jack from becoming to overbearing for us to watch, he placates Gwen when she becomes too much of of a bitch for me to stand, and I've always thought that Torchwood would fall apart without him. I doubt that even Jack knows where to find most of the things hidden around the Hub and I like to imagine that the reason he doesn't put up a fight when Gwen pushes herself to the number 2 spot and takes charge every chance she gets is because he knows that when she goes too far, he'll just dispose of her in one of the vats of acid he keeps in the back just for those purposes.
I think it would be very stupid for a show that just killed off two of its main characters to get rid of another only a few episodes later, especially when the season is as short as it is and being shown BBC One. When they're doing so much to make this season into even television, i don't understand why they would take the risk and get rid of any character, but especially Ianto as that would leave us with Jack and what possibly is the most unliked character on the show...that just may be my own biase speaking, but I don't think there's a ton of people who are crazy bout Gwen out in the world. They really do try and sell her as the heart of the team, but a Mary-Sue is a Maryy-Sue, and when she's as bitchy and self-righteous as Gwen Cooper, she makes me almost prefer the one-dimensional dull selfishness of Bella-'Sue' Swan from frakkin' Twilight.
Kill Gwen, make Rhys a member of the bloody team, I don't care-just don't take away our amazingly mighty Tea-boy.
