Atlantis ficlet - huh, that was unexpected.

I haven't written fic in a long time, it seems. I wax and wane, creatively. Spent years with words, and then found a pencil and have spent the last two years drawing. Not every hour of every day, obviously, heh. And sometimes fic will creep in here and there, but my fixations, in general, shoulder each other out of the way, like rowdy siblings, and ( Read more... )

Oh this is cool. I love it. It's beautiful, and creepy, and lyrical, and I love it. <3

Hee. I've been dipping into some of the Sparky love, and I sekritly wanted for you to see this, but didn't feel I could post it in Sparktober, as...well...there's not much of your actual Sparky in there. Sneaky reference to "sheperding" notwithstanding.

So, I am all sorts of glad that you saw it and liked it :)

Cool1 (no pun intended). I like the very human substitution of the river for space in Elizabeth's mind. And the three-fingered alien is very nicely drawn.

I, too, was sad about the way that Elizabeth's non-end was handled on the show (that was pretty much when I stopped watching, now that I think on it, although I hung around to see Sam Carter for a few eps). I like to think that this is how it went, and that the imagery of returning warmth will mean that the alien world she wakes up into will embrace her.

The snapping rubber band of consciousness is a great image.

Yes, much as I like Sam, why they felt they had to jerk Elizabeth around is beyond me. And, although, Torri Higginson went out and wouldn't come back just to "die", I think I would have found it harder as a fan to watch the proper Elizabeth drifting in space.

So glad it worked for you. It went through a fair amount of tweaking, and really, there should only be so many times you can write the word "cold" before you should stop and hit the back button!

I would *like* for this not to be in the too distant future, so that Elizabeth could somehow return to Earth (ahem and John Sheppard), but in reality, it is probably set in far ahead, with no sign of humans from Earth, but with the aliens who against all Pegasus odds are benevolent, and treat her with warmth and respect.
