It's the world I know

Dear World,

Shut your mouth. Or fix it.
Don't talk about how "it happens" and there's nothing we can do. Think harder. Try harder. Hold the door for people, let them go in front of you, ask how someone's day is and mean it.  Listen to people, people are dying for you to listen to them. Stop talking so much.

First up, we have Cho Seung-Hui who ( Read more... )

I always enjoy learning that people are interested enough to leave a comment.

Even if it's a wee bit cryptic

I always enjoy this experience more when it's not anonymous

Thank you. That is the lovliest, most refreshing complement I've received both on LJ and in real life for that matter in a while. And that is exactly what I'm talking about-just being genuine with people, even if you don't know them.

But I wish I knew if I knew you or not. I hope you'll tell me who you are. Until then, thank you for your copacetic comment. Always welcome here.

So, I really enjoyed reading your views and your very open point of view. I agreed with a lot of what you said- that it's amazing how much is on tv. I always used to joke and tell my dad that someday I would create a "good news" station. And it would be things like "This many teens in wherever are on the honors roll" and things like "today a woman saved her husbands life when," you know- the sappy and happy stories that are usually only 20 seconds long so we can spend a full day listening to how the world is going to hell. And about the whole thing on campus and the people protesting. Ugh. Who asked them?! Seriously, why would you come to a campus to harass young adults into thinking that something is wrong with them and that they need to change or else GOD will punish. I'm sorry. But my GOD is a loving and understanding GOD. Although I don't agree with homosexuality, it's not like I'm going to get into anyone else's face and tell them they're going to hell.
Grr.....
Anyway, just wanted to comment with you.

PROFOUND --> "the world is craving attention."

yup.

and yeah i would also be suicidal if i had to see the world the way it is all the time. sometimes really unhappy people just love to revel in it, saying "it happens" and "this is why" - he's asian, lower-class, misunderstood, loner, unathletic, we can say ANYTHING we have EVERY excuse don't we! what excuses do people give for being happy? oh that's right, you don't NEED an excuse to be happy! you can just be happy.

i think a little sincerity, a little listening, goes a long way. good job in recognizing that and living it. :)

it would help if people had enough self-respect to ask for attention, and tell people exactly what they need and want. but that isn't how we roll. we prefer the roundabout approach and scare people in the process.
