you said it, sister. nearly all my "friends" from grove city are nonexistent in my life right now and i anticipate that's how it will be for a long, long time. if i don't go out of my way to talk about shallow things with them, i won't ever hear a response. people who called me their best friend 6 months ago have no idea what i do, what i'm up to, where i am. yeah it's a lonely feeling. i'm glad i'm not the only one who feels that way but it is just life. anyone who doesn't acknowledge that the internet, texting, facebook, etc. are just ways of avoiding intimacy but not solving the problem is living in a dream world.

hey let's hang out sometime soon!
HILLSIDEEEE ha ha ha ahahaha

Yes, the depth is gone from our loves and relationships, and not just on the internet. What do i really get from going out drinking with friends? How do we grow as we sit on the couch and play a video game?

You speak of a happiness, and I think that is part of it. An elusive happiness that we as society gave up on finding years ago. So we live our shallow happy lives, or our deep depressed ones.

But why shouldn't we find that deep happy?

You are certainly on to something, keep going with it. De-construct our need to be brief. Why are we moving backwards?
