To write about this two characters of SGU is not an easy thing to do. We've barely seen them interact with each other, or having any kind of conversation with the exception of the episode "Water". They are nice to each other, he treats her much better than the other soldiers, he's not nice to everyone, that's for sure. And she? If she talks about him (to others), she don't talk good about him, we've witnessed this several times by now. The two (three) times he was in her hands (Darkness, Divided, and Incursion, last time was more Telford), she is kind, like she is to everyone else, she treats her patients always fair, whoever it is. But we've seen nothing more substantial in the show.
So, it up to us to fill in the never told stories. What happens to the characters in between the episodes? How do they interact? Do they talk to each other?
I like the way it is shown in this story. You show the distance, and at the same time the closeness which could be, which is not unfold in the show until now.
A wonderful story, beautifully written! I like the quiet way they interact. And I love the genuine smile at the end. You did a really good job. I hope to read more from you soon!
Thanks EllieV, I love the story. I think Dr. Rush would be a totally different person if Gloria had lived. He dosn't know how to interact with people that aren't on his level, but Gloria was the bridge that helped him. When she died a part of him died too, he just shut out the rest of the world. Maybe TJ will be the one to help him out of the dark place he is in. It would be wonderful to see him happy once again.
