Fic update

Sep 03, 2010 10:25

Well, I've made a start on the next chapter of my SGA fic Postliminium, which is promising. I'm not feeling the SGU fic love at the moment, though. Some people just have ugly souls and many of them are Stargate fans.

Oh dear *hugs* That sounds terrible.
What happened?

It's a culmination of the bullying allowed in certain quarters and indeed, I would say even encouraged on various online fora.

That's really bad.
One should stay wherw one's welcome.
Just give a sh** on these people. Ignore them and don't let them drag you down.
SGU is still wonderful and we know that :)
*hugs you again*

Yes, I'm seriously considering bailing from some of them.

It has been a long time ... Stretton was starting to get a wee bit snide in my ear and Alix wouldn't stop babbling.

Glad you're writing again, despite the idiocy and its effort to drag you down.

I have a dislike of bullies, liars and hypocrites.

I'm sorry to hear you've run into some bullies. Personally I can't stand bullying in any form, but when it's for a tv show you have to wonder. It should be something that's enjoyed not turned into something people don't want anything to do with and the forums should be the same.

I usually just leave when a discussion gets out of hand and I think whom ever moderates the forum should step in and stop it.

I hope you find your happy again, sending all good things your way:):):):)

Hilariousness has now ensued. I've just been accused of being a bully myself by one of the moderators at Gateworld. That's the way, isn't it.

I'm very bad at not commenting, but I have read all your SGU fics and loved them all, so I hope that once series 2 starts you will be inspired and regain your mojo. I really relate to your Dr Rush love.

I've come through the Big One in Christchurch miraculously unscathed, but the 100+ aftershocks since have us all totally on edge all the time; the bright spots on my horizon are the prospect of more RC films on DVD arriving hopefully this week, and the resumption of SGU. I keep thinking to myself, just hang on until then.

Gateworld is very much like the Gallifrey/Doctor Who forum - my impression is it seems to be largely inhabited by horrible fanboys who have no clue how to relate to women, except to bully the "girlies".

Yikes, hope things are getting better for you. I saw the news last night and a piece of building fell off just behind the report. Are the aftershocks still happening today?

Yes, GW is full of bullies but not all of them are fanboys. The fangirls are the 14-year-olds ... at least, that's how they act.

I've been sleeping at the neighbours' the last couple of nights because like many my nerves are so frayed from the hundreds of aftershocks that I couldn't bear another night on my own, sleeping under the table, which is pushed against a load bearing internal wall!

A lot of people have left town, or are doing so for the weekend. I have five cats (one still MIA) so it's not quite so easy for me.

My copy of To End All Wars arrived the other day, but I haven't been home enough to watch. Tomorrow hopefully, because I think I'll be at the neighbours again tonight!

Better to have company, I think. I hope things improve for you. I know it can sound trite best wishes and hope for safety across the Tasman.

I recommend a dose of Hamish rather than To End All Wars.
