It's been a long time since I was excited about a movie... a very long time. The best I've managed to muster in recent years is a sort of wistful hope which is usually sorely crushed (I'm looking at you, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland ( Read more... )

You know, I keep himming and hawing about whether to come back, and part of me goes, "if you don't go back, you'll miss The Hobbit!" which is alternately really sad, but so very, very true. It's perhaps the one thing I'd be willing to wear the damn 3D glasses for.

If Aragorn was in the Hobbit, I know you wouldn't even be questioning this decision.

And yeah, for this film, I'll try the dork specs.

You know, of the book series translated onto the big screen that I've experienced, I think LOTR is the most masterful. The movies retained the majesty and glory of the books and gave book fans something new to appreciate. Whether or not you're a fan of the books or even of LOTR in general, there's no denying that Peter Jackson did something really special when he brought these stories to life.

I don't watch enough stuff to have felt any hype for The Hobbit, but I will trust your judgment and assume it's something to look at least a little forward to. :3

Yeah, something about the quality of the films and the peak of my fangirl existence I was in at the time of their release makes these movies my own personal definition of geek.

Hopefully my assessment isn't wrong, but I have faith in this team.
