That's a neat technique to try. I usually set burn to a gradient layer just to enhance the image a little, or sharpen it.

Ooh, I've never tried a Burn layer. *makes a note to do so* In general, I'm a little intimidated by Burn, because it can have such crazy effects, but lately I've been fooling around with it again.
