I would not have put money on this happening before the heat death of the universe, but it's true: SBIRS GEO-1 launched yesterday, and is winging its way into orbit.

Go team SBIRS go! ONWARDS TO GEO-2!

Seeing as how at least 80% of my grey hairs are due to SBIRS, I am also in shock. However, there are still lots of opportunities for things to go wrong - liquid apogee engine burns, various deployables, etc. I am hoping that everything keeps doing well, but I am never optimistic.
