Thoughts: Scarecrows make it easy to fill out the ranks of a deck; this one is essentially mono-black. Chainbreaker is a far far worse early play than I thought it was-- I drafted 3 of them and took them all out, resulting in the rather creature-light list above. I did just fine though-- 3 solid fliers at 3CC and 3 more fliers if I have a blue creature out or an active Scuttlemutt. Incremental Blight is superb. Blowfly Infestation worked pretty well the one time I triggered it: I played Scarscale Ritual killing one of my own guys which let me put a -1/-1 counter on an opposing 1/1, which killed it and let me put a -1/-1 counter on an opposing 1/2. It probably could've been cut from the final version of the deck, but I was stretching for the last few playables. I was too hesitant to put in the two copies of Ghastly Discovery that I drafted; I only had 4 nonblack creatures so the Conspire would've worked pretty often and one or two more Islands wouldn't have messed with my mostly-mono strategy too badly. With those in and two of Revelsong Horn, Torpor Dust, and Blowfly Infestation out, it would've been a little tighter-- drop some fast beaters, draw some more, drop some more.

If Chainbreaker's ability read, "tap: remove a -1/-1 counter from Chainbreaker." it would be an excellent early drop. It actually reads, "3, tap: remove a -1/-1 counter from target creature," which makes it less of an efficient creature and more of an odd utility card or combo piece--think Persist. I also made bad picks getting Pili-Pala in the first draft we did--unfortunately, it's not all that good unless being used to ease splashing another color. Still, I am in love with the scarecrows, particularly Scuttlemutt and Scrapbasket. Also, Grindstone + Painter's Servant can kill someone before they can draw 3 times!
