My son "Small Boy" just won an award for his dramatic stylizing of "Wuthering Heights". Apparently his class had to do a book report and he and a few of his friends decided to ham it up.
What really surprised me is that he never even heard of the Kate Bush video. I tried to show him, but he was all "mOMMMmmmm" with eye rolls. Because that song is 40 years old. (I just checked. Really. It was her debut song when she was 19.)
Is there a year where you've subconsciously stopped mentally counting and then get surprised when things are older than you think? For me it's the year 2000; I forget that that is actually almost 20 years ago.
It's a very unique video...but then, she has always been a unique individual.
I have always been drawn to the Brontes, all three of them: their work and their backstory...who they were...Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights are two of my favorite books of all time. I had always planned to use one of their pen names: 'currerbell' was taken, so 'ellisbell' it is. Either one would have equally pleased me.
