I almost said the same thing to my mother once, when she made some remark about a guy with tons of piercings. She pierces her ears. How is there any moral difference? I wish I had said it at the time, but in the moment it's so much harder to come up with something to say.

Not advocating sticking one's head in the sand and ignoring all intolerance, but at the same time there will always be hateful assholes on there internet. And who cares what they think? :p

The internet hates overweight people too and while I know that's nowhere near the same magnitude that trans people have to deal with, I know what it's like to have one's mood thoroughly ruined by stumbling upon hateful comments.

I try to remember (though I'm definitely not always successful) that haters are going to hate and the only opinions that I should really care about are from the people that matter to me: my friends and family, not some anonymous hate-filled person on the internet.

It's frustrating though, I know. But for what it's worth, this friend thinks you're extremely awesome. Try not to let the haters get to you. *hug*

Thank you. <3 Mostly my silence on Youtube is due to my not wanting them to spam up my videos of kiddo with their nastiness, and not having the family members and friends who go to watch my videos have to get a smack of stupid to the face.
