Wow, that's a big move. Good luck with the move, and with being a single parent. Carpools shall be your best friend. Australia is going to be a big change, but from the looks of it you'll have plenty of friends waiting for you.

WOW! That's a lot of change! Congratulations, and I know you will handle it all very well. I was in high school when my parents moved (and a year later they moved again!). I went through the same kind of reactions your kids did, but I can say without hesitation that it was absolutely the best thing that ever happened to me. You learn to be independent and adventerous in ways that most kids their age can't imagine. Now, there were lots of tears and some difficult times, but in the end it, was absolutely worth it.

It won't be an easy time, both when Steve's in Australia and when you guys move down, but, like Lisa says, you'll handle it. And Melbourne is a lovely city. (And Australians are lovely people!)
