Book Covers, Day 4

gevr nominated me to post covers of seven books I love - one cover a day for a week. There is to be no explanation or review, just covers. Each time I post I will ask someone else to take up the challenge. Obviously it goes without saying that if I tag you and you don't want to it, you don't have to do it. My mother had two small watercolors that her father had painted (he died when she was a girl), and they were similar to Larsson's work--he grew up Estonian, but his parents were originally from Sweden. So for me the paintings and scenes in the book are a glimpse of the past that she knew.

Larsson shows his house and his family in such an idyllic way, who wouldn't want to be there!

This looks like a beautiful book! I love that it takes you to the past as seen through your mother's eyes.
Oh, to have an outing in the woods like this:)

What a beautiful cover! I've seen photos of his paintings and I liked that many of them seemed like illustrations of some wonderful story.

He clearly turned his family life into a story with the pictures--maybe an early version of reality TV? It's romanticized of course, but so so lovely.

They are and they're full of action, rather than posed and static.

Many of them look like they should go along with folktales.
