We've had to send back multiple Xbox 360 consoles due to the red rings of death, and when we replaced our stolen Xbox it immediately chewed up two games we'd also just replaced. I'm glad Microsoft does make it easy to ship back defective consoles!

C.O.D. is VERY popular at my house right now, too.

We've been lucky. This is the first time we've had a problem with it, and it's nearly three years old - just squeaked in under the warranty.

Haven't you heard? Google is the new Evil Empire. I'm sure they had a ceremony handing over the title. ;-)

Isn't it nice when a big corporation surprises you like that?

One of my nephews works for Google and thinks it's wonderful. They do treat their employees well, but the rest of us . . .

It got even better as when I went to the UPS store, my plight was obviously a familiar one ("We get at least five Xboxes a week," the owner confided) and everything was done with maximum efficiency.

I've heard that about their employees, too. The evil part is more in how much Google is buying up, how much they control, and that kind of megacorp stuff.

My boys are both into Playstation, always have been. I haven't heard how it compares on the repair & replace scale. I hope T's next machine is a winner.

Yep, I find that aspect of Google very scary, too.

I asked T about Playstation and apparently he thinks it is more reliable, but more of his friends use Xbox and they play it live against each other.
