Supraspinatus

Who knew I even had a supraspinatus muscle, but I do and I have either stretched it or torn it. If just stretched, physiotherapy and painkillers should sort it out in three to four weeks, if not then I will have to see a specialist to repair the tear. Whew! I'm so glad it wasn't something worse. I hope you feel better soon, and it's merely stretched instead of torn.

I do, too!

My son fell about laughing when I told him what was wrong, apparently the supraspinatus is part of the rotator cuff which normally gets injured in athletes, particularly pitchers. An athlete I am not!

Let him laugh. From my perspective, you were running a race when you were injured, therefore you were involved in athletic endeavors, therefore you must be an athlete. ;-)
